Job Description

A site management role responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of demolition works, including daily site operations, labour and subcontractor coordination, RAMS compliance, safety briefings, programme monitoring, and client liaison.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Demolition Site Manager is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of demolition projects from mobilisation through to completion.
  • The role requires full operational control of site activities, ensuring works are executed in accordance with approved method statements, programme requirements, client expectations, and all relevant statutory regulations.
  • The Site Manager will lead site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers, maintaining the highest standards of safety, environmental compliance, and quality across often complex and high-risk demolition environments.

Requirements

Essential

  • CSCS Black Card – Demolition Manager (Essential)
  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)
  • First Aid at Work
  • Proven experience managing demolition projects of varying scale and complexity.Strong knowledge of temporary works, structural sequencing, and high-risk demolition activities.
  • Experience within highly regulated sectors (e.g. Nuclear, Power Stations, Hospitals, Town Centre projects) desirable.
  • Strong understanding of CDM Regulations and Health & Safety legislation.
  • Valid UK driving licence

Preferred

  • Take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of demolition site operations.
  • Ensure all works are carried out safely, in strict accordance with approved RAMS and company procedures.
  • Lead by example in all Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality matters.
  • Manage and coordinate direct labour, plant, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Conduct daily briefings, toolbox talks, and safety inspections.
  • Liaise with Clients, Local Authorities, and third-party stakeholders as required.
  • Monitor programme performance and proactively address delays or operational challenges.
  • Ensure permits to work, temporary works documentation, and statutory inspections are maintained and compliant.
  • Oversee waste management and environmental controls in line with legislation and planning conditions.
  • Maintain accurate site records including diaries, progress reports, and incident reports.
  • Immediately report any incidents, near misses, or RIDDOR-reportable events in accordance with company procedures.
  • Contribute to project planning, sequencing, and value engineering where appropriate.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding client and company information.
  • Ensure professional competency is always maintained.
  • Be aware of and adhere to the Company Ethical and Equal Opportunities Policy.
  • Ability to obtain site-level security clearance where required.
