Key Responsibilities

• The SHEQ Officer is responsible for supporting and promoting Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) compliance across demolition projects.
• Working closely with operational management and site teams, the role ensures that projects are delivered safely, in compliance with statutory requirements, company policies, and client expectations.
• The SHEQ Officer will play a proactive role in fostering a positive safety culture, maintaining audit readiness, and ensuring that quality and environmental standards are upheld across multiple live demolition sites.

Requirements

Essential

• NEBOSH Diploma (Preferred)
• CSCS Card (Black Card – Construction / Demolition Manager or Professionally Qualified Person preferred)
• ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 knowledge and auditing experience desirable
• First Aid at Work
• Experience within the demolition or construction industry is essential
• Experience within highly regulated sectors (e.g. Nuclear, Power, Public Sector) desirable
• Strong working knowledge of CDM Regulations and current HSE legislation
• Valid UK driving licence

Preferred

• Promote and enforce high standards of Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality performance across projects.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and compliance reviews, issuing reports and tracking corrective actions.
• Review and assist in the preparation of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
• Support site teams in the implementation of company SHEQ management systems.
• Monitor compliance with ISO standards and assist with internal and external audits.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, ensuring appropriate reporting and corrective actions are implemented.
• Advise senior management of any significant SHEQ risks or compliance concerns.
• Assist in maintaining up-to-date registers for training, plant certification, statutory inspections, and environmental monitoring.
• Support environmental management including waste compliance, duty of care documentation, and pollution prevention measures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
• Liaise with Clients, regulatory authorities, and third-party stakeholders where required.
• Maintain confidentiality of all company and client information.
• Ensure ongoing professional development and awareness of changes in legislation and industry best practice.
• Be aware of and adhere to the Company Ethical and Equal Opportunities Policy.
• Ability to obtain site-level security clearance where required.
