As part of DSM’s accredited management system for ISO 14001 we are committed to continually improving our environmental performance of our operations in accordance with the DSM Integrated Management System (IMS) which is designed around the Plan – Do – Act – Check principle.

We apply the waste hierarchy to all of our operations and support the concept of the circular economy. Where viable markets exist to reuse wastes we produce this option for disposal will be selected wherever possible.

We are committed to sustainability in all our operations and will actively promote sustainable regeneration to our clients and suppliers
We recognize we are part of a community, and as such we have a moral responsibility to community as a whole
Our works have the potential to cause negative environmental impacts. As far as practicable such impacts will be eliminated or minimised
Sustainability is embedded in our purchasing policy and includes that all new timber is purchased from certified sources such as FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council), or re-used timber is used
We do not use materials on the UK Red List and as far as possible replace all substances requiring a COSHH assessment
As part of our strategy of becoming carbon neutral fossil fuels are being replaced by bio-fuels and the most fuel efficient plant and equipment are purchased until hydrogen becomes a viable power source option
Key Sustainability Initiatives
FSC Certified Timber
All new timber purchased from certified sources such as FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council), or re-used timber is used
No Red List Materials
We do not use materials on the UK Red List and replace substances requiring COSHH assessment
Bio-Fuel Transition
Fossil fuels are being replaced by bio-fuels and the most fuel efficient plant and equipment
